Time to measure cross-border impacts: building sustainable North-South relationships and connections

Using a very practical examples – the introduction of public health measures in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the potential introduction of a time difference between Northern Ireland and Ireland – this project, made possible through the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Reconciliation Fund, highlighted the need for impact assessment of proposed policies from a cross-border perspective.

It also developed a framework for the application of cross-border impact assessment for the use of all those in public bodies and civil society interested in the building of sustainable and mutually beneficial North-South relationships in changing times.
