Building sustainability in the Centre for Cross Border Studies

This three-year project consists of two interrelated elements: improving CCBS’s digital offer and capture, and diversifying revenue streams. In the past year, thanks to the support of the Dormant Accounts Fund NI, we have been able to undertake a number of activities relating to both strands.

In terms of the first strand, the key activities we have undertaken included: the re-design and re-launch of our website; the purchase of hardware and software to equip the Centre with a meeting room with the capacity for video-conferencing; contracting external expertise to increase our in-house digital skills, both in terms of improving our capacity to hold online and ‘blended’ events, and of improving our ability to professionalise our online presence.

As for the second strand, and related to the first, we contracted external expertise to undertake a campaign to highlight our work and events to a wider audience, and to direct a specific campaign to attract sponsors for our Annual Conference and advertisers in our Journal of Cross Border Studies in Ireland.
