All Island Women’s Forum discusses future of the sector
The All-Island Women’s Forum, which is convened by Common Charter supporter, National Women’s Council of Ireland, met in April in Monaghan for its second in person meeting of 2023. The session heard presentations from leading women’s community sector organisations on the impact of funding cuts on the women’s sector across the island. Forum members discussed practical ways that the Forum can use its all-island platform to elevate the issues created by funding gaps.
The Common Charter pledges supporter organisations to work towards:
- Improving women’s representation in decision-making structures
- Promoting and supporting gender equality proofing and gender budgeting
- Engaging with and supporting human rights, particularly for the most isolated and marginalised in our communities
