
Dr Ryan Feeney
Ryan is Vice-President and Registrar at Queen’s University Belfast.
He studied Education, Business and History at undergraduate level at St Mary’s University College. Ryan holds an MA in History and Politics from Ulster University and an LLM in Law, Governance and Public Policy from Queen’s University. He has a Doctorate in Governance (specialising in political science and public policy) from the National University of Ireland with a specific focus on the operations and functions of the Strand Two structures of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. Ryan was formerly a Visiting Professor in Governance and Public Policy at Ulster University.
He was the Executive Producer for a major documentary, RTE’s “The Agreement”, a two-part series on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement negotiations which was also broadcast on BBC One, and was Executive Producer and consultant on the documentary film “The Negotiator” which focused on the life of Senator George J. Mitchell. Ryan has organised and curated numerous major international conferences: the 20th and 25th anniversary events at Queen’s University marking the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement; Human Rights and Refugees (with the University of Chicago); the Northern Ireland Peace Process (with Yale University); and the role of women in conflict resolution (with Columbia University) and Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils Global Innovation Summit hosted by Queen’s University in November 2024.
