Womens Spaces

Women’s Spaces is a prime example of the Charter’s principle of ‘improving women’s representation in decision-making structures’. The delivery of Women’s Spaces will be led by New Common Charter supporter NIRWN along with partners WRDA and WSN. This three year project will develop new ways of highlighting women’s experiences in peacebuilding and explore mechanisms to integrate women’s priorities in policy making and public debate, including provisions in the Good Friday Agreement, equality law and international human rights standards.
The Future Leaders (CIFL) programme

The Future Leaders (CIFL) programme is a great example of the Charter’s principle of ‘capacity-building for community leadership in cooperation, especially for emerging leaders’. This programme run by New Common Charter Supporter Cooperation Ireland provides accredited leadership, communications and political lobbying training to outstanding emerging leaders from across the islands of Ireland and Great Britain. In January, Co-operation Ireland brought schools from Cork and Belfast together for a cross-border residential trip. Belfast students are currently enrolled in CIFL Leadership Training and Cork students are currently completing the CIFL Sports Leadership course.
