The 2010 conference of the Standing Conference on Teacher Education North and South (SCoTENS) took place in the Hilton Hotel in Belfast on 28-29 October. The conference, entitled ‘Teacher Education for Inclusion’, will mark the 10th anniversary of the highly successful 2000 cross-border conference of people involved in teacher education which led to the establishment of SCoTENS in 2002. The keynote speakers at this year’s conference are Professor Sir Tim Brighouse, the former Schools Commissioner for London; Mr Renato Opertti from the UNESCO International Bureau of Education; and Dr Amanda Watkins from the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education.
