Submission from the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation in response to the call for evidence issued by the House of Lords Northern Ireland Scrutiny Committee on strengthening Northern Ireland’s voice in the context of the Windsor Framework.

The submission is focused on the Centre’s ongoing efforts in monitoring the extent to which the necessary conditions for North-South cooperation are being maintained following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU in accordance with Articles 1(3) and 11 of the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland and the Windsor Framework, as well as the Centre’s role in convening the Ad-Hoc Group for North-South and East-West Cooperation.

Those efforts have included engagement with UK, EU and joint UK-EU structures. Additionally, this submission focuses on civic society stakeholders, and more specifically on organisations from the community and voluntary sector.

The author is Dr Anthony Soares, the Centre’s Director.
