The Centre for Cross Border Studies has published a Position Paper on European Union Cohesion Policy

Posted On: 06 Mar 2018

The Centre for Cross Border Studies has published a Position Paper on European Union Cohesion Policy, which supported its response to the European Commission’s public consultation on EU funds in the area of Cohesion. In its Position Paper and response to the consultation, CCBS has called for the continued strengthening of Cohesion Policy post-2020 and for its budget to be safeguarded. As the EU’s main instrument in ensuring social, economic and territorial cohesion, Cohesion Policy is also a vital vehicle in enabling its citizens to actively participate in EU-funded measures to improve the lives of their communities. Through its European Territorial Cooperation programmes, Cohesion Policy has also enabled citizens, organisations, local and regional authorities to cooperate across borders to improve socio-economic conditions and, in so doing, to increase understanding and trust between citizens of different Member States.
