North/South Student Teacher Exchange Orientation Day – Year 2

Emer Egan, Assistant Chief Inspector, Department of Education and Science in Dublin and Marion Barriskell, Special EU Programmes Body project officer opened the North South Student Teacher Exchange Orientation Day (Year 2) in the Centre for Cross Border Studies in Armagh.

11.30 | Official opening and welcome |
11.40 | Limerick students outline the Southern education system |
11.50 | Stranmillis and St Mary’s students outline the Northern education system |
12.00 | Four break-out groups (with a mix from North and South and from the different colleges): a “getting to know you” session |
12.30 | Students involved in previous exchanges speak about their experience |
12.50 | Lunch in the Market Place Theatre and Arts Centre |
1.50 | Four break-out groups to discuss students’ expectations and concerns (see sample questions below) |
2.20 | Logistics and question and answer session (plus completion of introductory evaluation questionnaire) |
3.20 | Tour of Armagh and close |
