North-South Postgraduate Scholarships

Applications are now open for the Universities Ireland 2026 North/South Postgraduate Scholarships.

The scheme is open to students who have been accepted onto a Master’s programme or planning to undertake a PhD.

This year, Universities Ireland will offer scholarships, each worth €25,000, to five students.

The scheme supports post-graduate mobility and shared academic exchange on an all-island basis.

Universities Ireland was founded in 2003 by the nine university presidents on the island of Ireland to promote and develop cooperation between their institutions; three other universities joined between 2011 and 2024.

• Open University
• Queen’s University Belfast
• Technological University Dublin
• Trinity College Dublin
• Ulster University
• University College Cork
• University College Dublin
• University of Galway, and
• University of Limerick.

The Centre for Cross Border Cooperation provides the secretariat to Universities Ireland.
