The Centre for Effective Services is the latest supporter of the New Common Charter.
The Charter aims to empower civic society to drive cooperation between Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Great Britain. It has a set of agreed principles for organisations participating in North-South and East-West cooperation. The principles recognise the importance of increasing opportunities to share information, knowledge of policy and best-practice within and across these islands; improving policy-making; identifying cross-border opportunities; engaging with and supporting human rights; and facilitating the exploration and celebration of a community’s culture and heritage.
Majella McCloskey, Director of the Centre for Effective Services, said: “CES is pleased to pledge our support for the New Common Charter. The principles closely align to our purpose – to improve the lives of people on the island of Ireland, by supporting the implementation of excellent public services through evidence-informed policy and practice. We look forward to collaborating with other civic organisations across Ireland.”
