UK-Ireland Summit Joint Statement

Anthony Soares, the Centre’s Director, said: “The Joint Statement published after today’s UK-Ireland Summit contains significant commitments to collaboration in important areas.
“We at the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation look forward to implementation and are ready to support both governments in achieving objectives that are of mutual benefit to people within and across these islands.
“In particular, given how our Border People project has frequently raised this issue, we welcome the ‘agreement to engage on reaching a decision in principle this year on a bilateral Ireland-UK approach to address concerns arising from hybrid cross-border working and to consider other aspects of the UK-Ireland Double Taxation Convention which may require updating’.”
