John Hewitt International Summer School bursary winner profile

Rebecca D’Arcy is one of our The John Hewitt Society International Summer School bursary winners.

She has a PhD in English from Dublin City University and works as a librarian but her passion is writing poetry.

Rebecca was awarded an Irish Writers Centre emerging writers’ mentorship in 2025, generously supported by Fingal County Council.

In 2026 she participated in The Stinging Fly poetry workshop.

Rebecca’s poems have been published in New Irish Writing in the Irish Independent, Crannóg and The Storms (a journal of poetry, prose and visual art).

The International Summer School takes place from 27-31 July in The Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre, Armagh.
