The first ever reception at 10 Downing Street to mark St Patrick’s Day was attended by a host of guests including Anthony Soares, Director at the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation.
Anthony said: “It was an honour to be present at yesterday evening’s inaugural 10 Downing Street St Patrick’s Day reception, where the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer stressed the importance of the Good Friday Agreement and the relations it encompasses.”
The Prime Minister said that Northern Ireland was a place which was close to his heart and the Good Friday Agreement was the greatest achievement of The Labour Party in his lifetime.
He said the event for St Patrick’s Day was a “chance to celebrate the incredible ties that bind us all together”.
