Tara Farrell, Chief Executive of Longford Women’s Link, was the guest speaker at the third cross-border networking event.
Tara highlighted the importance of building long-term working relationships, being flexible when designing a project and giving consideration to the development of guides and toolkits.
She also said how important and effective it can be to have direct contact with funders.
The Sustaining the New Common Charter project is a series of five meetings aimed at sharing practical examples of cross-border projects, facilitating networking, identifying challenges and opportunities, and gathering insights for future policy engagement.
The project has received funding from the Shared Island Civic Society Fund.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 8 October in Rural Community Network, Cookstown, Co Tyrone.
The final event in this series of Common Charter meetings will take place in Dublin in November.
The Common Charter brings together a network of civil society organisations from both North and South of the border and is free to join.
