Join delegates on 21 May in Belfast for a day of discussions, networking and collaboration focused on enhancing cooperation in the Irish Sea Space.
The event will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore opportunities across three themes – Sustainable Blue Economy, Innovation in Life and Health Sciences, and Culture & Community.
The speakers are Dr Irene McMaster (Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at Strathclyde University who worked on the Irish Sea Study), Dr Anthony Soares (Director at the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation) and Caitriona Mullan (independent specialist in governance and transboundary cooperation).
There will be a panel discussion on Transboundary policymaking, led by The Executive Office’s Permanent Secretary David Malcom.
In addition, there will be three sessions in the afternoon on:
- ‘Sustainable Blue Growth: Connecting Regions’
- ‘Innovation Strengths in Life and Health Sciences’, and
- ‘Regenerative (Sustainable) Tourism’
The Developing Irish Sea Cooperation (DISC) project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
The symposium is hosted by The Executive Office in association with DISC partners – the Southern Regional Assembly, the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government.
