The ninth Sir George Quigley Annual Memorial Lecture, entitled “Expanding the horizons of trade and tourism on the island of Ireland”, will be delivered jointly by Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, and Margaret Hearty, Chief Executive of InterTradeIreland, and will be chaired by Maureen O’Reilly, Senior Research Associate with the Centre for Cross Border Cooperation.

The lecture will focus on the role which InterTradeIreland and Tourism Ireland have played in supporting economic development on the island of Ireland, and the future prospects for growth in cross-border trade and tourism.

The Centre for Cross Border Cooperation hosts the annual Sir George Quigley Memorial Lecture to honour his vision. He believed that a vital element of a sustainable peace process was through strong economic and business cooperation as the essential means of harnessing the enormous potential which businesses, public bodies, local authorities and communities in both parts of the island have to offer.

This event also offers the opportunity to network with leaders in business, public sector and civic society, including during the lunch which will follow the lecture.
