Mary Robinson addresses 5th Irish-African Partnership workshop in Belfast

Over 100 senior academics and researchers from Northern Ireland, Ireland, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa met for three days in Queen’s University Belfast on 29 September-1 October for the fifth workshop and conference of the Irish-African Partnership for Research Capacity Building. Among the keynote speakers were Dr Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, UN Commissioner for Human Rights and founding President of Realizing Rights: the Ethical Globalization Initiative; Tom Arnold, Chief Executive of Concern Worldwide; and Professor Brian O’Connell, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. The event was organised by the Centre for Cross Border Studies.
