The Standing Conference on Teacher Education, North and South (SCoTENS) held a major conference in Malahide, Co Dublin, in October 2003 under the title ‘Challenges to Teacher Education and Research, North and South’, with a keynote address from Mr David Istance of the OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation in Paris.
SCoTENS has a wide remit including supporting research projects, sectoral conferences, North/South exchanges and developing its website (http://scotens.org/). This conference is organised on SCoTENS’ behalf by the Centre for Cross Border Studies.
