This conference was the second of a series of six higher education conferences which were organised by the Department for Employment and Learning in Belfast and the Department of Education and Science in Dublin, together with representatives of the university, institute of technology, further education and student sectors, North and South. The Centre for Cross Border Studies was asked to organise these conferences.
The keynote speaker was be Ms Lindy Hyam, Chief Executive of IDP Education Australia. Established in 1969, IDP is a world leader in the international education and development services industry. The company provides worldwide access to Australia’s education and development services, with a global netwrok of more than 500 staff in more than 90 locations around the world and activities in some 50 countries.
Other conference speakers were Mr John Deupree, Centre for Quality Assurance in International Education, Washington DC and Dr Neil Kemp, Education UK, The British Council.
