CCBS Acting Director invited to CESCI’s 10th anniversary celebrations

CCBS’s Acting Director, Anthony Soares, was invited to take part in the conference marking the 10th anniversary of the Central European Service for Cooperation Initiatives (CESCI), which took place in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in Budapest, on the 25th and 26th of April. The conference drew policy-makers, cross-border practitioners and academics from across Europe and further afield, with senior European Commission officials and Hungarian Government ministers also attending. Themes included cross-border governance and policy-making, the current state of border studies, and integrated cross-border development. Anthony took part in a panel devoted to cross-border knowledge sharing, where he presented on the implementation of CCBS’s “Towards a New Common Chapter” project, which is funded by the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Community Relations Council, and the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Reconciliation Fund.
