6 February 2007
The Centre for Cross Border Studies is holding its rescheduled North/South Mental Health Services Research Study Day on Tuesday 6 February 2007 in Newry. This will bring together 40 senior policy makers, academics and practitioners to review the current state of mental health services research and to discuss a proposal by the Mental Health Commission Ireland to establish an all-island Mental Health Services Research Centre.
The Study Day will hear from Ms Bríd Clarke, Chief Executive and Dr Fiona Keogh, Research Consultant of the Mental Health Commission on the challenges facing mental health services research and how issues of research quality, co-ordination, collaboration, knowledge management, infrastructure and funding could be addressed through the establishment of an all-island Research Centre. We expect that these discussions will make an important contribution to informing the future mental health services research agenda within the island.
Programme to follow.
